Initiatives promoted between the University of Naples Federico II and national and international companies to create innovative paths for undergraduates and graduates in their growth path.

The Apple Developer Academy is a collaboration between the University of Naples Federico II and Apple. Academy training focuses on developing applications for the world’s most innovative and vibrant app ecosystem. The program is focused on software development, startup creation, and app design with an emphasis on creativity and collaboration to empower students to develop the skills needed to succeed. The Academy aims to attract students with different types of previous experience and the training is designed to support not only those who already have knowledge in the IT field but also young people interested in areas such as graphic interface design and business.

An initiative promoted by the University of Naples Federico II in partnership with Deloitte Digital that offers a unique path to graduates and undergraduates in the digital transformation sector. Each year, it organizes the Salesforce Developer Bootcamp to prepare its students and other candidates to become the cloud technology specialists of tomorrow.

It was created with the aim of providing young talents, with at least a three-year degree, the skills necessary to bridge the gap between companies and the digital ecosystem, allowing them to be protagonists in the digital transformation.

The Aerotech Campus, at the Pomigliano d’Arco site, is part of the Leonardo Labs network (Leonardo’s technological innovation laboratories) and constitutes one of the innovation centers on materials and production processes for the entire Group.

The Aerotech Academy is a high-level training course on frontier engineering issues designed jointly by Leonardo and the University in order to provide theoretical skills, operational and concrete skills that can be immediately used in advanced technology industrial sectors. It is an interdisciplinary training course where advanced research topics and applications of interest to the manufacturing industry are combined and integrated, all organized with innovative teaching and learning methodologies.

Cyber HackAdemy aims to train experts on advanced IT security issues, when there are advanced network architectures. In these contexts, cybersecurity must be faced with a holistic approach, expecting the presence of security elements from the very early stages of the project and taking into account the heterogeneity of the network platforms (access, core, transport, interconnect) involved, as well as the services end-to-end supported by them (automotive, manufacturing, media, energy, e-health, public safety, smart cities).

The activities of HackAdemy focus on some of the enabling technologies of the Industry4.0 paradigm, with particular reference to cloud computing and IoT systems. The approach is hands-on and is framed in the broader context of challenge-based learning (CBL).

DTLab is a cooperation project between the Center for Metrological and Advanced Technological Services (CeSMA) of the University of Naples Federico II and Cisco Systems, Inc.

The initiative trains experts in modern networking technologies capable of developing innovative applications for programmable network infrastructures in the Industry 4.0 technological context. For this purpose, a specialized course is provided focused on learning modern network technologies, including those enabling the Edge / Fog Computing paradigm, Network Programmability and Cybersecurity.

CoreAcademy aims to create a training experience that can contribute, in terms of building skills, human capital and solutions, to the innovation of the public service aimed at “transformative resilience of the economic system”. With MAKE Napoli, Medtronic intends to promote the acquisition, development and consolidation of innovative skills in the main disciplines of interest to the players in the health world, in line with the strategic roadmap and with the mandate of a leading company in the creation of value and innovation.

The 5G Academy brings together the Federico II University, Capgemini, Nokia and TIM with the aim of training new highly professional figures in the “digital transformation”, with specific reference to the revolutionary potential of 5G.

There are two courses: Postgraduate and Professional. The first training course, full time lasting 7 months, is aimed at undergraduates and graduates with a background not only of a scientific-technological type (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) but also young economists, sociologists, jurists, psychologists. The Professional training course is aimed at professionals in the sector interested in: understanding the productive, economic and social potential of 5G with particular focus in the telco, banking, industry 4.0, automotive, energies, multimedia, logistics, airport, retail, healthcare, and to make their business evolve and improve. The course lasts 6 months, one and a half days a week.

The Higher Education School in “History and Philology of the manuscript and ancient book”, named after a Master like Alberto Varvaro, who for over forty years practiced his teaching at the Federico II University, intends to establish itself as a privileged place for training of experts in philological, paleographic and codicological disciplines, making use of the direct study of manuscript and printed sources (literary, philosophical, theological, and musical) preserved in Naples and, more generally, in Campania libraries. It also intends to provide technical and professional skills in the field of digital humanities with particular regard to digital philology (digital critical editions) and to the conservation and dissemination of ancient book heritage (from the elaboration of databases for cataloging, to scanning, digitization, marking of images, virtual restoration of the book heritage).
